Mom, I know you are going to say that I didn’t need to do this, but I want to tell you that you really mean the world to me. In fact, I saw this world through your eyes. Thank you for your constant love and care and understanding. To me, every day is Mother´s Day. I LOVE YOU, and I cherish you more than you can imagine.

Dad, this might surprise you. I know I gave you some challenges when I was growing up, but it would have been much worse without you. Thank you for telling me when I was wrong and teaching me what was right. Dad, you made me a better human being out of me, and that was no easy task. Thank you for always turning me back on the right track.

Thank you for always being there for me. I will always cherish those precious moments spent with you. Talking over coffee. The long bike rides, even when we got lost. Studying together for exams in college. It doesn’t seem that long ago, because your friendship has kept me young. Thank you for being the best friend a person can have.

My dear sister, I don’t have enough words to tell you how much I love you and appreciate you. I know I can call you and you always are there to help me. You love me enough to tell me when I am wrong. You encourage me and tell me how proud you are when I do it right. You are not only my sister, but my best friend.

ABOUT THE GRATITUDE AWARD®

OSCARS are awarded to actors for their outstanding performances in movies, GRAMMYS to singers for outstanding performances in their work, EMMYs are awarded to actors for performing well as stars on television shows, and ESPY awards are awarded to athletes for their outstanding performances at sporting events.

A nation will award its special citizens the Medal of Freedom for their outstanding work in their careers that honors the nation. What about your mother who gave birth to you? What about the sacrifices made by your Father? What about the sister who stood by you at your lowest point? How about the brother who reaches out to lift you up when you have nowhere else to turn? How about your Grandma who raised you when your mom wasn’t around? How about a friend who helped you out to prevent your hardship from rising to the point of tears? What about your boss, who mentored you in your career to get you to where you are today? What do you give these people for their great performance in your life? GRATITUDE AWARD® is what you give them.

Based on the writings of John Amodeo, we can say that the GRATITUDE AWARD® signifies the giving of gratitude, meaning extending attention beyond yourself to observe what someone has given or done for you. By giving GRATITUDE AWARD®, you open your eyes to the existence of the person who lifted you up. Then, simultaneously, you notice how their eyes open to recognize your existence as distinct from theirs. You were positively affected by what they did for you or with you. At that moment, they saw you, appreciated you, cared about you, and perhaps even loved you. By giving them the GRATITUDE AWARD, you express your gratitude for their generous outreach beyond themselves and into your world. In giving such a person the GRATITUDE AWARD, you are publicly declaring to the world that he or she has fulfilled in your life all that is expected of a special human being.

At the time of issue, your GRATITUDE AWARD authenticity is attested to by the Humanity Appointment organization’s Gratitude Award committee, issued a serial number, archived permanently for authenticity verification, and shipped directly to the recipient or issuer.
